Spring is in the air, a very good reason for being excited & enthusiastic about starting a new day, you see apart from my art work I have another interest breeding my much loved canary's & today or tomorrow I am expecting the first clutch of the season to hatch, 6am is feed time for my seven pairs of whistling beauty's. Their songs fill the morning air with much vigor & the competition begins who can sing the loudest & longest. Also Little Gemma & Piere' (budgies) are about to become parents for the first time, dad is very attentive looking after his lady & keeping guard.
Mozart & Enya the expectant canary's are great parents to their young so I don't have too worry too much about them, but the other six pairs will be first timers & may need some extra help come feed time. I hope to have some photo's of the young chicks in time, so when that happens I will add some pic's.
Then back to the easel, at the moment I am trying to catchup on some commission paintings doing the final detailing & thinking what I am going to do for the ones on the waiting list. I am really excited about doing the one for my son's friend who asked me to do a dragon, I hope he likes what I have in mind after he gave me his details of colour & style of painting, comic like he informed me, straight edges & blue with a red dragon but keep it dark he said. Okay now that's a challenge for me & I slept on it, do you ever do that? I think I dreamed about dragons breathing fire all night and at one stage was being chase in the darkness of my dream.
So now have a wonderful day, whatever you are doing or whatever your interests are, do the best that you can, for tomorrow is another day & a new beginning.

From a young age the fasination of creating something from my imagination into the tangable was something I enjoyed doing. Collecting found & discarded treasures became an interesting exercise, sometimes not knowing what & where these treasures would be used but like a bower bird nothing was overlooked because I felt someday it could be " Just What I Am Looking For "
My Journey into the art's began after I seriously hurt my pelvis & spine, neck & both shoulder dislocations in 1992. Working in aged care nursing, which ended my ability to employment. Given two options by my medical practitioners, either to have my spine wired or try chiropractic treatments ( I was advised to take the latter ) & to find a hobby. So began my journey, floral art came & went, bear making didn't seam to do it for me, decoupage, soon lost interest, wood work, making bird boxes, doll houses, wind chimes etc, loved it but the body didn't. Then I discovered cloth dolls or should I say they found me & I was hooked. Many hours & late late nights went into their creation. It was a journey of discovery, experimentation & joy as each character came to life.
I began to experiment with air dried clay & so my dolls went from cloth to cloth & clay. Painting their features was one of my favorite techniques, so that's how my art on canvas evolved I wanted to see if I could take something I loved to do further add paint to a larger canvas & that's how the art studio was born.
Art has given me back my life as a chronic pain suffer or should I say SURVIVOR I have been able to work through my pain, it has given me a reason to open my eyes a see the beauty around me & the realization that there are other's out there a lot worse off than I am & I thank the Lord for his compassion & the gifts he has entrusted to me.
Each day a new beginning, something to learn & something to share.
Enjoy your creative journey ... as I have & the blessing that I am still here & able to share mine with you.
